On page 9 of The Punch Newspaper of Monday, May 25, 2015 ,is a publication of Nominees for 2015 Lagos State Man of the Year Award (LASMAYA 2015) by the Centre for policy development and political studies. Among the Nominees is Mr. Paul Abiodun Jegede.
My first contact with Mr Paul Abiodun Jegede was during the final interview for a Business development officer position with Japaul Group. Before the interview I did my research on the company’s history, directors and services.
I was particularly impressed by the humanitarian exploits of Mr Paul through his foundation – Jegede Paul Foundation.
While giving a brief account of myself at the interview, I talked about the humanitarian projects I embarked on during my National Youth Service Year; a look at Mr Paul facial expression boosted my confidence. I must have appealed to the Philanthropist in him.
When it was my turn to ask questions, I directed this question at Mr Paul, “You are an accountant by training, how did you envision Japaul group and why did you choose to be an entrepreneur. His response was simple and short, “To impact humanity and my generation positively”.
The narrative above forms my basis for choosing Mr. Paul Abiodun Jegede as my Nominee for the Lagos State Man of the Year Award.
